Really
want to work from home but don't know where to start? Today,
there are so many different things that you can do from
home; it's no longer a matter of trying to find something so
much as trying to find a home job or opportunity you can
love. From starting your own business from scratch to
telecommuting or working for an already established company,
there are plenty of interesting things to do from home to
pick from.
The first
thing anyone wanting to work from home should do is decide
what they are passionate about. Don't just think of things
that you can do for work. Think outside the box. Love
purses? There are direct sales companies where you can make
commissions selling purses or having purse parties. Handy
with a sewing machine? How about making your own purses to
sell? Love animals? How about a dog walking service, a pet
sitting service, grooming, making animal clothing, dog treat
bakery, build and sell dog houses, the possibilities are
almost endless. Making a list of your hobbies, skills,
interests, and random thoughts will help you come up with
some great ideas for finding the perfect opportunity or job
you can do from home.
What are
your talents? Are you good with spreadsheets or computer
programming? How about organizational skills? Hiring
yourself out as a virtual assistant has turned into big
business. Offering your secretarial services can bring in
quite a bit of income. Handy with graphics? Many WAHMs have
made quite a business out of designing those blinking
signatures people use in their signature lines on forums. If
you love kids, and can handle more than just your own, you
could start a babysitting service or daycare in your home...
Can't
quite come up with something? Network Marketing allows the
average individual to start their own home business by
becoming an associate or an affiliate of their larger
company. There are so many options available for working
from home in this area. Direct Sales companies, like
Tupperware, Avon, Discovery Toys, Usborne books, and many,
many others are an excellent way to make a great income.
Many of these work-from-home opportunities have been around
for decades. What type of products are you interested in?
When deciding on a direct sales company, make sure it's a
product you really like and use yourself. If you don't wear
make-up, how could you possibly convince others to buy this
product from you?
Other
types of network marketing companies are companies that
offer a service, like mentoring or special discounts in
return for monthly memberships. Your job would be to recruit
people into these programs, and you would earn commissions
from their monthly fees. These types of things you can do
from home usually require no inventory or expenses other
than your monthly membership fee. Keep in mind other
expenses my crop up, like advertising.
There are
many options for finding things you can do from home. Don't
make your decision lightly, really think it through. Make
sure it's something you really love, and can see yourself
staying motivated to do, since working from home means you
now live at your job (but that's a whole other topic).
